March 13, 2020 - CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC
As you know, the situation of the coronavirus epidemic in Europe is reaching worrying proportions. Each country is implementing increasingly aggressive measures to try to contain the epidemic.
This evening, our government has announced a series of measures that will be implemented in Belgium at midnight Friday through Saturday.
Concretely, the final rounds of the International Grumiaux Competition 2020 cannot take place, because all cultural activities are canceled as of Saturday.
The jury is already considering how to respond to this announcement. They will meet tomorrow morning to decide their position in relation to the final rounds which cannot take place. In any cases and at the moment, as all the participants are in Brussels anyway, we inform you that the preliminary rounds of categories A & D are maintained tomorrow.
However, these performances will take place privately, only with the jury, the participants and their family.
